Beaulieu Maps
Beaulieu: Opened in August 1942, west of Beaulieu village, the big three runway
airfield, operated R.A.F. Coastal Command Liberators and R.C.A.F. Halifaxes on anti-U-boat patrols. In 1944 R.A.F. Typhoons and Bostons were joined by U.S.A.A.F. P-47 and B-26 aircraft to support D-day Post-war saw the Airbourne Forces Experimental Establishment use the base until closure in 1950.
Beaulieu airfield today is kept as a memorial site in honor of those pilots crew & ground staff of the R.A.F. and American airforce who gallantly risked and gave their lives in defence of our country, freedom & democracy.
Beaulieu Model aircraft Association.
The Beaulieu model aircraft association today use the site flying model aircraft under strict rules of membership
and model insurance. All radio control flyers are welcome but must be members of the BMFA and therefore covered by their insurance which covers for the sum of £5000,000 in any one claim. they must also join the Beaulieu model aircraft association which costs £5 per year starting each January 1st.
